Tarif elektrik tidak naik di Sarawak, kata SEB. SARAWAK FOR SARAWAKIAN

‘TNB failed in Sabah’, high time for Borneonisation.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah consumer and social activist, Patrick Sindu, has suggested that the Sabah government retake power utility, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB), that they surrendered to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) two decades ago.

The u-turn, he said, was necessary to help resolve the unabated energy power problems in Sabah.

“In the beginning when TNB took over SESB 20 years ago, the reason given was to help the Sabah government solve its energy problems.

“Now the power problem in Sabah has become worse, so it is much better for the Sabah government to take back SESB and solve the problem,” he told FMT in an immediate reaction to the federal government’s announcement to increase power tariff from next month.

PRESS STATEMENT: “Implement Borneonisation, Safeguard Autonomy of High Court” - DATUK DR. JEFFREY KITINGAN

PRESS STATEMENT
“Implement Borneonisation, Safeguard Autonomy of High Court – Dr. Jeffrey”

Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan is the Chairman of STAR Sabah and State Assemblymen for N33, Bingkor, Sabah.
He also contested in P180, Keningau garnering 11900 strong votes

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kota Kinablau: “The Sabah government must ensure that the Registrar of the High Court here is headed by a Borneo native and not replaced by another Malayan and put to rest the rumours circulating over his replacement” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief commenting on the promotion of the current Registrar as a Judicial Commissioner leaving the vacancy to be filled.

Recently, 7 Borneo native non-Muslim Sessions judges and magistrates were transferred in one go in a highly unusual manner to the Peninsula. The rumor then was that the Registrar would be promoted and the 7 judicial officers were sent away and be removed from contention to be the replacement Registrar. It was also rumored that the replacement Registrar would be another Muslim officer from the Peninsula.

Well, so far the rumors have come true!

At the outset of the formation of Malaysia in 1963, the judiciary was to be one of the pillars of the rule of law for Sabah and Sarawak. Hence, the High Court of Borneo was created as an equal to the High Court of Malaya, both with an ultimate avenue of appeal to the Privy Council in London.

The High Court of Borneo (now High Court of Sabah and Sarawak) has jealously guarded its autonomy and rejected external interference from the Peninsula.

Since 1963, the Registrar of the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak has always been headed by a Borneo native until the current Registrar.

“If the new Registrar is to be someone from the Pensinsula, it runs smack of the Federal government’s Malayanization program” opined Dr. Jeffrey.

“It is also totally contrary to the Borneonization set out under the 20-Points and the Malaysia Agreement” added Dr. Jeffrey.

It only shows the colonial master mindset of the federal leaders from the Peninsula and the sheer trampling of the special rights and privileges of Sabah and Sarawak agreed upon in the formation of Malaysia.

It is just another step in the colonization of Sabah and Sarawak by Malaya.

The Sabah and Sarawak governments need to implement Borneonisation more effectively and ensure that the new Registrar of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak will be a Borneo native to safeguard the autonomy of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak and stop the Peninsula from meddling with the affairs of the judiciary in the Borneo States.

The Federal government (which is run by Malaya) should not be allowed to indirectly meddle with the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak and do as it pleases. The separation of powers in Sabah and Sarawak in the judiciary must be respected and safeguarded at all times.

As an additional step, the Sabah government must ensure that a Sabahan will be appointed as the next Director of the High Court in Sabah.

If not, it will not be surprising if the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak is completely taken over and usurped by the Peninsula in the foreseeable future.

The Sabah government needs to assert its authority for the sake of the future of Sabah and Sabahans and stop the Malayan manipulation of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak by the Peninsula.

SARAWAK FOR SARAWAKIANS: ‘Mt Singai durians exclusive to Singai Bidayuh people’

KUCHING: Research will be done on the durian species planted in Singai area, including Mt Singai, to register it as an intellectual property of the Singai Bidayuh community.

Community Services Assistant Minister Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie said a seed bank will be set up in the area to serve as a species collection centre.

Singai is well known for tasty and high quality durians, especially those planted in Mt Singai for many centuries. Therefore we must conduct research on the species to register it as an intellectual property of the Singai people.

"UNITED BORNEO FRONT" is the need of the hour - RAJAH RAQAFLUZ

Rajah Raqafluz (Pen name) is the admin for "STAR TODAY".
Believe in STAR Sarawak and United Borneo Front (UBF), advocate of Borneo Agenda, Friends of the Trust and a firm follower of Harunyahya.

"UNITED BORNEO FRONT" is the need of the hour

In the current world scenario, a country cannot live in isolation. Malaysia federation has literally been transformed into a global village wherein the interests of Sarawak, Sabah and Malaya are intertwined. This is the very reason behind formation of several domestic and local-based unions so as to enable various countries in a Malaysia federation (Sarawak, Sabah and Malaya) help coordinate with each other effectively for mutual gains.

Numerous domestic organizations either in the National level (Malaysia federation) or locally-based level (Sarawak-based, Sabah-based, Malaya-based) are all active within the framework of their own policies.

Unfortunately, none of these organizations have so far succeeded in weeding out evils from where we live. The only rational thing to do is therefore for people who espouse goodness; love and affection and get united against those groups that are allied with evil.

If the Sarawakians and Sabahans wished to emerge as a powerful, stable and prosperous bloc among the comity of nations, it must act as one.

The importance of unity has become more important in the current scenario. Absence of unity is preventing a common voice being heard from Sarawak and Sabah. These divides have left innocent Sarawakians and Sabahans at the mercy of others and literally unprotected. Helpless women, children and old people in Sarawak and Sabah all waiting for their brethren to save them from persecution. These innocent people are the responsibility of the Sarawakians and Sabahans more than anyone else.

Sarawakians and Sabahans need to forge unity among their ranks and to strive together if they are wronged.

We need to wage an intellectual struggle and get united against injustice and violence of human rights. It is high time Sarawakians and Sabahans formed an alliance on the lines of the United Borneo Front envisaging broader economic, political, military, social and cultural collaboration. If one studies the idea carefully, he/she would be surprised that the geostrategic location of the entire Borneo bloc makes the idea viable and easy to implement and if we pool all our resources and ease trade and travel regimens, the results will be beyond our imaginations. We will have an edge over all such unions, as ours will be a union of love, friendship and willingness. In that respect, the United Borneo Front will be a grand union of peace envied by all.

All the political parties and NGO that joins the United Borneo Front must promise to respect the independence, equality and sovereignty of the states in their common territory. In this way, member countries will maintain their own state structures but be able to act as a common and a single nation which is Malaysian Borneo toward the outside world on those matters on which they agree to collaborate. Member states should be independent in their internal affairs, and must encourage resolution of disagreements through peaceful means. Protection of minorities be ensured to gain respect worldwide. Of course, the tolerance inherent, peace, and the conception of love and union will be the reference points for the establishment of the fundamental principles of this union.

Malaysia federation has existed since 16 September 1963. In its present form, however, the federation is far from possessing the characteristics of this union of love we just proposed. The effectiveness of this conglomeration is still questionable.

It was founded to resolve the problems of Sarawakain and Sabahan and establish cooperation among countries. Unfortunately, it has miserably failed in resolving issues facing the Borneo territory or in emerging as a strong voice supporting Borneo causes.

In the wake of the unrest in Sarawak and Sabah in the Malaysia federation, foreign powers (Malaya) had to fill the gap of authority and power and intervene to resolve the internal issues of the Borneo territory. This is very saddening.

What needs to be done is the immediate and the imminent establishment of a voluntary union (United Borneo Front) that resolves problems, and looks at the development issues and problem resolution on a constant basis rather than just meeting once a year. It is time to act together to build Borneo territory in which Sarawakain and Sabahan live in peace and tranquility in a city constructed with artistry, in which quality of life is raised to the highest possible level and where all of us embrace each other wholeheartedly. This is perhaps the only way to get rid of the negative impact of the so-called spring that has marred all prospects of peace and prosperity in the Borneo territory.

Our demand is not secession but a review but if this is too much, kick us out like Singapore - DR. PATAU RUBIS

State Reform Party, Sarawak (STAR) chairman Dr Patau Rubis

Our demand is not secession but a review, under our Borneo agenda, a review for a better mode of Federalism where the three countries which remains in Malaysia to have a better working relationship making sure that the resources of the BORNEO nations are not exploited PURELY for the benefit of MALAYA.

IF, IF, IF, this demand is too much then kick us out like what was done to Singapore before.

Next effective next year, only Malaya and Sabah to celebrate 31st August as their Independence Day. Sarawak 22nd of July....Then as Malaysians, we all celebrate September 16th as our Malaysia Day.. the day Malaysia was formed with component nations as equals.

Next Sarawak and Sabah should move in their respective State Assemblies that the present Chief Minister should be called Prime Minister or President or the Prime of Malaysia be called President....only then there will be no more confusion in the minds of all Malaysians our real history.

EXCLUSIVE: The Magnificent Seven - LINA SOO

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Malaysia was pre-determined by Britain and England, this was signed and sealed in the London secret agreement between McMillan and TAR, where Britain would surrender Sarawak sovereignty to Malaya. UN, or rather US were the third partner in the perfect crime.

The Cobbold Commission and UN Assessment were whitewashed to legitimize the political heist of England's last remaining colonial territories, to pull the wool over the eyes of the innocent Borneons and the international community.

Thousands and thousands of Sarawakians, 1962 - 1963 who mounted opposition to Malaysia Plan and took part in or organized protests against the Cobbold Commission and UN Assessment were detained for years without trial, and tortured. One living survivor related how he was asked to sign a document at every 2-year detention review, "I SUPPORT THE FORMATION OF MALAYSIA" and he would be released. He refused six times.

The last batch of 7 political detainees who refused to sign any confession were released unconditionally after the Sri aman accord in the 70s. This group is the block a, the hardcore, the "ngay chui", in Chinese ' hard water. They spent the best part of their life in prison to uphold their belief that Sarawak should be a free country free of colonial rule of Britain or Malaya.

WE SALUTE OUR MAGNIFICENT SEVEN.
Regrettably some of them have passed on, rip

Not even the word "umno" can enter SARAWAK!

KUCHING: Are Sarawak Barisan Nasional leaders, especially those from PBB, a more courageous lot now, particularly in their working ties with “big brother” Umno.

Take a close look at a recent incident and form your own conclusion on whether Umno is still as revered as before by PBB leaders.

The indefinite suspension of Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen from the Sarawak Legislative Assembly has raised several nagging questions about the mention of Umno in the august house.

Why is the mention of Umno such a taboo topic? What were the reasons behind the Speaker’s initiative to order the motion to suspend the Kota Sentosa assemblyman?
