With current political scenario, will Taib be re-elected again? BUT...

WILL TAIB  BE RE-ELECTED WITH OR WITHOUT OUR HELP?

Sorry to say why are we displaying a dependency syndrome all of a sudden? The man (Taib Mahmud) is not indispensable and in fact lots of us want to get rid of him. This man Taib has never helped but sold out Sarawak to Malaya since the 1960s.

Taib rose out of race based politics. It did not happen yesterday but 50 years ago. He and Rahman Yakub were the promoters of race-based politics instead of pluralist parties. The last 50 years have seen how these people divided and ruled the people.

Taib was and is one of the favored sons of UMNO and like his uncle was groomed by them from the 1960s to take power in Sarawak as their proxies. They just followed the Malaya pattern as the article says. They did a great job for the new Malayan colonial rulers. One of Rahman Yakub's daughters is married to one of Najib's brothers. They are thick as thieves.

Neither did Bintulu "takeover" by the federal government (Malaya) did not just happen out of the blue. It was their vision to create the SCORE which subsequently is to exploit the hinterland which is another easy target with sparse population in the way and plenty of natural resources. Hence the Bakun dams etc. to provide the power to run their industries not the people's industries.

This plan was on the books since Bintulu was developed into a hub in the 1980s. They are just extending their project using it as the base. Taib has all his fingers in the pie!

Can't we plan to stand on our own 2 feet? We have aspired for such a day and the only to do it is to get rid of all the rubbish politicians and replace them with a truly self-reliant parliament free from the outside interference of Malaya.

OUR PRIMARY ROLE IS TO AWAKEN THE PEOPLE
FOR THE "REAL SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENCE"
