KUCHING: Replicating an earlier decision in parliament, the Sarawak Legislative Assembly yesterday dismissed a motion by DAP’s Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen to discuss the state’s status within the federation of Malaysia.
Chong had moved the motion under Standing Order 15(2).

In dismissing the motion Speaker Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar said there was no urgency to discuss the matter and Chong’s intent “did not have the urgency” as required under the the clause.
